International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE), is an organization that aims at bringing inclusive, flexible, and world-class education and teaching to everyone. The ICDE world conference on online learning 2019 is one of the most significant events in the online learning area. The 28th ICDE world conference on online learning 2019 is being held in Dublin, Ireland with the duration of the conference as four days, beginning on 3 November 2019. As the name suggests, the conference takes place on a global scale. The theme of the conference this year is Transforming Lives and Societies. The theme emphasizes the growth of new models of learning that enable open, online, and digital learning. The conference will discuss the different ways of digital learning, on the broader concept of Sustainable Development.   • There are more than 650 paper submissions. There are 550 presentations expected, from authors representing 54 countries.
  • Many sponsors from around the world, will present key ideas, to change the shape of online higher education. These include MOOCs, Futurelearn, etc. The CEO of Futurelearn Simon Nelson will deliver a keynote address. The various MOOC-based micro-credentials will be discussed. In one of the discussions, Beverley Oliver, the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Education at Deakin University, will present his recent research. It is expected that there will be an announcement about the global development plans of MOOCs. 
  • Professor Belinda Tynan will be giving a plenary talk on the theme of the conference of unity in diversity, and the effect of transformative leadership, in changing times.
